Celebrate Summer in Excelsior Springs!

There's more summer fun to come! Excelsior Springs offers a variety of events for the 4th of July weekend. More food, more music, more great shopping opportunities. Watch for coverage of Excelsior Springs on TV Channel 9, Thursday morning, July 3.
July 2008
July 4 Movies on the Lawn, The Elms Resort & Spa, 9 p.m.
July 4-5 120th Anniversary of The Elms, year long event, kick-off event, The Elms Resort. The grounds open on Friday with BBQ, lawn games and entertainment. At 6 p.m. there will be proclamations from the state, county and city with remarks from Harry and Bess Truman impersonators. For more information call 816-630-5500 or visit the web site.
July 4 Community fireworks display, 9 p.m.
July 5 2nd Annual Missouri Wine Festival, The Elms Resort, noon to 9 p.m. Missouri wine, art, crafts and music. Tickets $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Music includes David Knopf, The Cowtown Playboys, The Great White Possum String Company and Little Rachel. Wineries include Baltimore Bend Vineyard, Indian Creek Winery, Jowler Creek, Mount Pleasant Winery, Riverwood Winery and Terre Beau Vineyard. July 8-11 Gregg Williams Foundation Week. Starting July 8 there will be ARC Athletic Performance Testing at Tiger Stadium from 7-10 a.m. A Tournament and Lineman Challenge will be held from 1-4 p.m. and the ESHS Alumni 7-on-7 Football Game will be held at 7 p.m. On July 9, don't miss the Hall of Fame Banquet and Class of 2008 Induction, Elms Resort & Spa, 7 p.m. A VIP Reception will be held at the Elms Resort & Spa on July 10, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The Tiger Classic Golf Tournament will be held July 11. July 11 Art Crawl, various galleries and shops downtown, 5-9 p.m.
July 11 "National Treasure," Movies on the Lawn, The Elms Resort & Spa, 9 p.m. $1 per person.
July 12 Woodstove cooking workshops at Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and State Historic Site, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Participants will get an opportunity to prepare a meal in the summer kitchenand eat the meal they prepare. Limited space available; to register contact Amanda Vansel at 816-580-3387.
July 12 Big John & The 39th Street Blues Band will be performing at the Excelsior Springs Ice House Blues Garden behind Wabash BBQ, 646 S. Kansas City Ave. For more details, click here.
