Nance Chosen to be Waterfest Grand Marshall
State Representative Bob Nance has been chosen to be the Grand Marshall of the 2008 Waterfest Parade. Bob is a lifelong resident of the area and is serving his second term as State Representative for Missouris 36th District. Nance was chosen for his many contributions to the Excelsior Springs Community over the years as a volunteer, small businessman, and Representative.
Bob has been actively involved in the community his entire life. He has been a member of the Excelsior Spring Area Chamber of Commerce for 30 years where he has served two terms as president. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for a total of 15 years. He is also a member of the Lawson Rotary Club, Optimist Club and Kiwanis Club.
Bob supports many local charities and civic organizations including the Ray County Coalition, local school districts, Clay Ray Veterans and the Quarterback Club. Bobs volunteer experience includes over 25 years as a volunteer baseball coach. He has also served on the Excelsior Springs Parks and Recreation Board for eight years, the Excelsior Springs Hospital Board for two years, and the Excelsior Springs Planning and Zoning Board.
In the General Assembly, Nance serves on the Senior Citizen Advocacy, Agriculture Policy, Interim Committee on Senior Nutrition and Insurance Policy Committees in the General Assembly and is Chairperson of the Special Committee on Senior Citizen Advocacy.
He received the Freshman Legislator of the Year for Transportation and Legislator of the Year for School and Community Outreach along with the Missouri Farm Bureau Friends of Agriculture Award. He has been recognized by the Cities of Lawson, Richmond and Excelsior Springs for his many contributions to our communities.
Bob has been a member of the St. Lukes Episcopal Church for over 45 years. He has served as treasurer, member of the Bishops Committee and is a chalice bearer and lay minister. He lives in Excelsior Springs with his wife, Sally.
